There’s No Single Path to Success

I came across this quote while searching for decorations for my new office. It made me pause.

We’re often told or encouraged to follow a certain path… go to college, get a “good” job, get married, have kids, move up at work… But that isn’t always the right path for us. Or sometimes we start out on a path and then decide to take a totally different route. As someone who has personally experienced this, I know that realizing you’re not on the right path for you but uncertain what is the right path…can be hard.

My own career path hasn’t been linear. I’ve made intentional career changes, experienced job loss, and been given opportunities I never could have predicted. I’ve also pursued opportunities only to quickly realize they were not the right fit for me.

This applies to my personal life too. I’ve been told I have cancer twice. I decided I wanted to be a mom in my late 30s after intentionally being childfree. That’s just a couple paths I wasn’t expecting.

I have truly lived and experienced that there is no single path to success. You get to determine your paths…cause there will probably be many.

If you’re feeling behind, questioning if you’re on the right path for you, or feeling like you’re doing life differently than everyone else around you…I want you to know that I get it. You’re not alone. And you’ve got this.

Take it one step at a time. Walk slowly or jog fast. Turn around. Pivot. Ask for directions.

And if you need someone to help you figure out where you want to go next, that’s why I created Pomegranate.

There’s no single path to success. There’s only the path that’s right for you. And you get to decide where that path leads.
